January - Garnet
Garnet is the January birthstone, usually deep red in colour.

Amethyst is the February birthstone and is a violet quartz.

Aquamarine is the March birthstone and is named for the colour of sea water.
April - Diamond
Diamond is the April birthstone, a very popular and sort after gem.
May - Emerald
Emerald is the May birthstone and is known as the colour of spring.
June - Pearl
Pearl is the birthstone of June, and is the only organic rather than mineral birthstone.
July - Ruby
Ruby is the birthstone of July and is a scarlet red precious gemstone.
August - Peridot
Peridot is the birthstone of August, and comes from the mineral Olivine.
September - Sapphire
Sapphire is the birthstone of September and is so named for the blue colour most sapphires have.
October - Opal
Opal is the birthstone of October and comes in many different colours from whites to greens to blues.
November - Citrine
Citrine is the November birthstone, and is made from a yellow to orange-red crystalline quartz.
December - Turquoise
Turquoise is one of the December birthstones, the other being topaz. Turquoise is an opaque gem found in dry, barren areas.
