Sidmouth Highlights

ree

Start your wander through the charming Byes, meandering along the river before heading into town. Take a pause and refresh with a coffee at one of the delightful independent cafés: Kapes is a must, with a mean almond croissant and a view that’s almost too good to be true.

Swing by and see us at Banwells whether it’s just to have a look, a chat, or to track down that “I-need-something-special” gift.

Continue your stroll up the high street: grab a page-turner at Winstones, and pick up an on-the-go snack at Winchesters (autumn pears are peak season right now). Stock up for supper at The Cheeseboard, The Little Deli, and any of the bakeries; and don’t skip the sweet treats at the The Old Sweet Shop opposite the church. Pro tip: next time, consider parking in town: you’ll leave with more than you bargained for!

Take a leisurely walk through Connaught Gardens, soaking in the seasonal blooms, then head up to The Clock Tower at the top of Jacob’s Ladder for a well-earned lunch. Feeling ambitious? Work off your indulgence with a stroll down to the beach, or for the more adventurous, tackle Jacob’s Ladder steps and circle the cliffs, breathing in the medicinal sea air, before heading back into town.

A day in Sidmouth is the perfect mix of discovery, indulgence, and fresh-air adventure. Pack your walking shoes, and leave space for treats.
